Geographic datasets about specific locations and/or phenomena are collected from the field using various methods. The spatial properties of these data are collected and stored in X, Y, and Z (i.e. latitude, longitude, and elevation) format. Then a specific data management system (DBMS) is used for storing and manipulation of the data. The spatial properties (coordinates) are converted or transformed from one coordinate system to another for compatibility with other datasets employed by the user of the data. IDATA provide user with two data management applications and coordinates are transform with the embedded transformation tools. gPoints is used for the management of six-fields point (location-related) data with the latitude and longitude given in either decimal degrees or Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) in metres. CoordTrans, GeoConv and CartEllipse transforms coordinates from UTM to Geographics and from Geographics to plain (Cartesian) three-dimension (3D) coordinate systems.
