COMBATING EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE IN PUBLIC EXAMINATION

Abstract\r\nIn Nigeria, the past two decades have witnessed an alarming rate of increase in cases of examination misconduct especially at secondary school level. Research has shown that there is an increase in the cases of examination malpractice by Students, teachers, and parents. (Vanguard, 2005, weekend Pointer; Daily independent, 2004). The incidence of examination malpractice has become so rampant that there is hardly any examination anywhere at all levels and outside the formal school system that there no one forms of malpractice or the 0ther. This issue of examination malpractice has now become very common all over the world and each examination season experience the emergence of new and indigenous ways of cheating. This paper suggests the various ways in which examination malpractices in public examinations can be curbed in Nigeria.\r\nKeywords: Examination malpractice, public examinations
